The Northern Territory's Uluru-Kata Tjuta National Park #3 best place to see in the world.

Top 10 region awarded to The Red Centre, Australia. Lonely Planet Best in Travel 2019

No Australian holiday is complete without a visit to the Red Centre, home to Uluru-Kata Tjuta National Park which has been awarded for the destination’s sustainable practices and ability to connect travellers with Aboriginal culture.

It's not hard to see why Lonely Planet named Uluru-Kata Tjuta National Park as the third best place to see in the world in 2020...

A visit to the World Heritage-listed icon, Uluru, is a life changing experience. Once you arrive and witness the grandeur and stillness of ‘the rock’, it’s easy to see why it has immense spiritual significance for the Anangu Aboriginal people, and why it is considered the spiritual heart of Australia.

While the Red Centre is all about the age-old sights and surrounds, new on the itinerary is artist Bruce Munro's Field of Light – an outdoor light gallery made up of over 50,000 solar lights, which works with the natural environment to create a truly breathtaking experience. The exhibition closes in December 2020.

Tours frequently leave for other wonders such as Kata Tjuta (the Olgas), Kings CanyonFinke GorgeOrmiston Gorge and Pound and Rainbow Valley.

You can visit the Red Centre all year round. The destination enjoys cool winters and dry, warm summers. There are regular flights into both Alice Springs and Uluru airports from most major Australian cities.
