Freedom Day Festival

Freedom Day is one of the most unique and remote festival experiences Australia has to offer, and is a free event.

Every August people make the pilgrimage to Gurindji Country in the heart of the Northern Territory to celebrate Aboriginal Land Rights and the unity for a positive future.

You're invited to join us for an unforgettable weekend of arts, sports, amazing cultural experiences and incredible music.

Past performers include best Indigenous bands, Sara Storer, Dan Sultan, 1927, Remi, Baker Boy, and of course Paul Kelly who captures the Gurindji story and Freedom Day spirit in the classic song From Little Things Big Things Grow.
