Leisure time

Cast your line for that prized barramundi along the Daly, Roper, Victoria or McArthur Rivers. Hire your own boat, or join a guided tour. Swim beneath stunning cascades, in thermal springs and fresh pools in the area’s numerous national parks and reserves. Hop on board a river cruise along the Katherine River. Head out in time to view the sunset and learn about local indigenous history and culture.

Under your own steam

Jump aboard a canoe for your own sight-seeing tour through the world-famous Katherine Gorge. Drift along the river, watch out for local wildlife, and navigate the gentle rapids with your paddle. Get your camp-fire songs ready for overnighting in national parks, snuggling down in your swag beneath the stars. Put your adventurous side, and your stamina, to the test by hiking the multi-day Jutbula Trail that winds its way through spectacular Nitmiluk National Park. Head out for an easier, but no less-rewarding day walk, stopping for picnicking and wildlife spotting at your own pace.

Over land and above

Alight at Katherine, and experience the extraordinary scenery along the way. Take to the sky on a helicopter tour or scenic flight to view Arnhem Land, fly above the towering cliffs of Katherine Gorge, over wending rivers, spotting wildlife and unique geographical features along the way.
