Peter “Fingers” Taylor goes by a bunch of titles. He’s Head Tour Guide, Food Tester, Possum Resuscitator and Jack of all Trades at Finniss River Lodge.

Fingers has been working on Finniss River Station since 1991, all the while collecting wild stories he’s more than happy to share. Yep, it’s fair to say Fingers loves to tell a tale or five!

Outback luxury

Located just 90km from Darwin, Finniss River Lodge combines the rugged beauty of the outback with modern luxury, creating a unique and unforgettable escape.

Situated on a 50,000-acre family owned and operated outback cattle station, Finniss River Lodge has floodplains, coastlines and bush. The area teems with Australian animals, from wallabies and an abundance of bird species to saltwater crocodiles and much more.

The diversity here is amazing and the place is just beautiful.

Dining done differently

Finniss River Lodge is more than just a luxurious outback retreat—it’s a destination for authentic Territory-style hospitality. The in-house chefs create personalised meals using seasonal, locally sourced Australian produce. Guests can even join in harvesting native ingredients, or "bush tucker," such as water lily stems, which are then incorporated into their meals for a truly unique and immersive dining experience.
