Learn about the Dreamtime and find out about the introduction of telegraph communications and mining in Tennant Creek’s museums.

Visit the Nyinkka Nyunyu Art and Culture Centre, go on a guided tour through the centre before journeying out into the gardens to learn about bush tucker and traditional medicines. Stop for a coffee on your way out and check out the shop where local artwork, crafts and books can be purchased.

The Hill Mining Centre shows working examples of some of the machinery used in the early years of the mining industry, as well as life during the 1930s gold rush. There are 2 museums and an optional underground mine tour, plus the opportunity for visitors to fossick for (and keep) gold.
