Katherine has a rich tradition of art and a deep awareness of its culture and heritage, from its national parks and gorges to festivals and distinctive Aboriginal art experiences.
The Katherine Territory Art Trail consists of galleries in and around the region that specialise in locally produced works reflecting the styles and influences of the Jawoyn, Warlpiri and Dagoman Aboriginal people. Visitors can watch and participate in art being produced, from didgeridoos to basket weaving, dilly bags, clap sticks and wooden carvings.
