*Pinch*...yep, it's a real place! The #KingsCanyon Rim Walk is full of surprises, particularly the 'Lost City', best described as a series of sandstone domes resembling structures you might have found in an ancient city 🙌 This sometimes challenging, but spectacular hike is 6 kilometres in length and has it all when it comes to epic scenery! Be sure to come prepared with an empty camera roll! 📸 Set in Watarrka National Park, Kings Canyon can be found roughly halfway between #AliceSprings and #Uluru. Our thoughts go out to our interstate and international mates, particularly in Victoria, at this tough time. While many of you can't travel right now, we're committed to bringing you a daily dose of vitamin-NT and brightening your feed with wide open spaces, World Heritage-listed National Parks, waterfalls and swimming holes. And one day, hopefully sometime soon, you can come and see it for yourself 💛 @_aswewander recently packed up their troopy and hit the road west of #AliceSprings, stopping at 2 Mile, a firm favourite with locals 🏕 The 2 Mile campground can be found on the banks of the Finke River near Glen Helen Gorge in the West MacDonnell Ranges. While there are no toilets or fancy cooking facilities, this is free bush #camping at its finest...not only will you be surrounded by rolling mountain ranges, but you'll also be laying your head next to one of the oldest river systems in the world. Local tip: you'll need a 4WD to access this spot! Cheers for tagging #NTaustralia, Luke and Jess. #SeeAustralia #RedCentreNT

There's no shortage of gorge-ous views at Ormiston Gorge in @visitcentralaus 😍 Located in the spectacular West MacDonnell Ranges near #AliceSprings, Ormiston is well known for its permanent freshwater swimming hole and epic towering red walls. While the water is a bit chilly over the winter months, it's the perfect time for getting out on one of the many hiking trails in the area, including the Pound and Ghost Gum walks. Nature therapy at its very best 🙌 Cheers for tagging #NTaustralia, @cedalisemariotti. #SeeAustralia #RedCentreNT

The #LarapintaTrail is one of @Australia's most iconic walks, starting in #AliceSprings and spanning 223 kilometres across the West MacDonnell Ranges. This long distance walking trial is divided into 12 sections that each take one or two days to walk. You don't have to do the whole thing at once, it's possible to just explore one or two, depending on your level of fitness and how much time you have. @minahlebreton recently did Section 5, from Birthday Waterhole to Hugh Gorge, which is one of the more challenging stretches of the trail. From the big blue skies that offer a stunning contrast against the sunburned landscape of the ranges, to some of the most spectacular geological formations in the region, this trail truly showcases the diversity of the Red Centre. Cheers for tagging #NTaustralia, @minahlebreton. #SeeAustralia #RedCentreNT #HolidayHereThisYear

These towering red walls can be found at Simpsons Gap, just 18 kilometres west of #AliceSprings in the beautiful West MacDonnell Ranges. There are several short walks that show off the area’s native plants and wildlife. Our tip: Head here just before sunset; not only does the gap light up as the sun hits it, but you might also spot one of the local black-footed rock wallabies that call the area home. Cheers for tagging #NTaustralia, @whichwaynow._.. #SeeAustralia #RedCentreNT

Have you always been fascinated by the night sky? 💫 With thousands of visible stars, the Red Centre offers some of the best night-time views in the world! Located 15 minutes south of #AliceSprings, on 100 acres of desert wilderness overlooking the spectacular East MacDonnell Ranges, the Earth Sanctuary (@sanctuary_nt) offers a variety of tours dedicated to ecology, culture and astronomy. Their incredible observatory (pictured here) is situated on an ancient sand dune - here you’ll explore the Southern night sky with an experienced sky guide, laser pointer and telescope. While you're waiting to visit, you can check out their Aussie TV show, Outback Brothers, airing on Channel 9 every Saturday. Cheers for tagging #NTaustralia, @sanctuary_nt. #SeeAustralia #RedCentreNT

It's hard not to fall in love with central @Australia's vibrant outback colours 🧡 This is Standley Chasm (@angkerlestandleychasm), a spectacular geological marvel just 40 minutes from #AliceSprings, and an important cultural site for Western Arrernte women. While the Chasm is worthy of a visit at any time of day, it looks most dramatic an hour either side of noon on a sunny day. This is when the light enters the chasm and the sheer walls glow from reflected sunlight. Cheers for tagging #NTaustralia, @phoebewilcox. #SeeAustralia #RedCentreNT

Would you believe this little oasis is just one of the many stunning waterholes around #AliceSprings? Located almost smack-bang in the middle of @Australia, most people think that this iconic outback town is surrounded by just desert, but in actual fact, it's home to some of the sweetest swimming spots getting around! Redbank Gorge, pictured here, is nestled at the base of Mount Sonder in the West MacDonnell National Park. It's an exciting day for Territorian's - locals can now travel freely in the NT! If you need us, we'll be out exploring our beautiful backyard 🧡 Cheers for tagging #NTaustralia, #SeeAustralia #RedCentreNT
