魔鬼的游乐场

如果你想搭帐篷露营、去观赏当地丰富多彩的动植物，卡鲁卡鲁大理岩（又称魔鬼岩（卡鲁卡鲁））和达文波特保护区都是理想去处。朗里奇水潭、瑞纳泉和康奈尔斯泻湖保护区都吸引了众多野生动物，也为观鸟者提供了良机——这里的鸟类中，有许多还是珍稀和濒危品种。

在步道上

在滕南特克里克，遍布着许多步道。游客们可以背起帐篷，去近距离观赏本土环境里的植物、鸟类和风光。游客可以沿着这种路径，穿过蜜月山脉（Honeymoon Ranges），前往玛丽安湖——玛丽安湖（Lake Mary Ann）位于城镇东北面五公里处，是一个游泳和野餐的绝佳去处。

土著之梦

达文波特山脉和土著人有深厚的渊源。这里还能找到瓦鲁芒古族、艾拉瓦里族和卡特提族的文物。这些古老的民族和土地关系密切，他们之间仍然流传着许多“梦幻时光”的故事。游客可以花45分钟游览艾略特的吉姆雷尼纪念公园（Jim Rennie Memorial Park），听人介绍当地植物、以及土著人使用这些植物的方式。

四驱之旅

滕南特克里克的不少绝佳景点只能驾驶四驱车前往。驾车旅游者们会在沿途发现许多引人入胜的小众景点。你可以考虑弗鲁河路径（Frew River Track），是通往达文波特山脉国家公园老警局水潭的一条备选路径。在这里，游客只要花点时间露营，就能真正体验到内陆地区的魅力。不妨找一个当地牲畜站——例如占地很广的班卡班卡牛场，你就可以搭起帐篷露营了。

Local dreaming

The Davenport Ranges have important associations for Aboriginal people. Artefacts relating to the Warumungu, Alyawarre and Kaytetye people remain and ‘Dreamtime’ stories are told among these ancient people, who retain strong a connection with the land. Take the 45-minute walk through the Jim Rennie Memorial Park at Elliott, and get an introduction to local flora and its traditional uses by Aboriginal people.

4WD

Many of the best spots in Tennant Creek can only be reached by 4WD, and drivers will discover plenty of fascinating nooks and crannies along the way. Explore the Frew River Track, an exciting alternative route to The Old Police Station Waterhole in The Davenport Range National Park. Visitors with a little more time on their hands can get a real taste of the outback by setting up camp at a local outback cattle station like the vast Banka Banka Station.
